7digital will allow BlackBerry users to easily browse and download music straight to any device. The official launch will take place in London on October 6th, but users in the USA, UK, Spain, Italy and Germany can check out a preview version now. Sadly no support for Canadian users in the preview (coming on the 6th), and you must have either a Bold or Curve 8900 to get in on the action. Upon the official release further devices will be supported and we'll hear all the details on the "click to buy" integration with other music applications.

And out of nowhere we have a leak for the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230. While many Pearl Flip users out there love their device let's be realistic here, it's not on RIM's top seller list. Ran across a thread in the forums and saw that BeejiveIM has tossed out another beta update. The app is currently at version 1.9.6 and includes some cool updates this time around. There are some minor UI changes among other things, but perhaps the coolest feature is the option to have push notifications to and email address when the app is running in the backgound. Reverie is about as simple as it gets. This full screen theme shows no icons on the homescreen, allowing you to fully show off your wallpaper. There is a small banner along the bottom with meters and notifiers as well as a Quicklaunch button. This is as clean as a theme can get, and I love the look of a screen with no icons. DUB lets you easily swap information with other users with only a few clicks. This is a great tool for business users who need to swap contact info quickly and efficiently. Apparently RIM has pulled the update and users are no longer getting it via Desktop Manager. Some users have experienced errors in the upgrade process so possibly this is related to RIM pulling it.

A little back Kevin did a review for an application called RadGuard and while at the time we had some fun with it on the post and on the podcast a new report could possibly explain why eveytime Kevin tried to use his BlackBerry with the app installed it set off the radiation alarm. A non-profit research and advocacy firm called Environmental Working Group has done testing and ranking on over 1,000 cellular phones to determine their SAR ratings and share that information. While studies are still being conducted on the actual effects the radiation maybe a few preventative measures wouldn't hurt. Especially considering two BlackBerry devices made the top 10 worst list.
